    April 13, 2012 Governor Mitch Daniels Office of the Governor Statehouse Indianapolis, Indiana 46204-2797 Dear Governor Daniels, As Executive Director of the National Troopers Coalition, which represents more than 45,000 state law enforcement officers across the country, I am writing to express our outrage and utter disbelief at the bill (Senate Bill 1) that you signed into law allowing citizens to use deadly force against police officers. This law is dangerous, disrespectful, and will encourage an “open season” atmosphere against law enforcement officers. First and foremost, law enforcement officers - who leave their families to go to work knowing it may be their last goodbye - dedicate themselves to serving and protecting the public.
