On March 18, 2015, the following letter was sent on behalf of the National Troopers Coalition and the Connecticut State Troopers Union in opposition of the parole of Inmate Gary Castonguay, who murdered Plainville, CT police officer Robert Holcomb. March 18, 2015 Board of Pardons and Paroles 55 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06702 To Connecticut Board of Pardons and Paroles, On behalf of the National Troopers Coalition and the 42,000 State Troopers we represent across the country, we oppose the parole of Inmate Gary Castonguay. We urge the Parole Board not to release Inmate Castonguay, who was convicted of capital felony murder and felony murder for the brutal slaying of Plainville police officer, Robert Holcomb.

NTC VEHEMENTLY OPPOSES “RAPPER” 'S VISIT TO WHITE HOUSE In recent days, there has been much outrage over the presence of a “rapper” that was invited to the White House. It is appalling that the President, the First Lady and the Administration would allow this so called poet to not only be invited to the White House, but allow him to engage with other public officials to tout his personal beliefs during this, one of the most revered of times in our nation„s capitol, National Police Week. On May 12, 2011, the President invited the Officers of the Top Cops Awards Program into the Rose Garden to celebrate and honor their heroic efforts.

This law is dangerous, disrespectful, and will encourage an “open season” atmosphere against law enforcement officers.
